Who are we?

SFM was established in 1994 as a public enterprise, taking on the legacy of the former Ferrocarriles de Mallorca (Mallorca Railways), guaranteeing the continuity and modernisation of rail transport on the island.

It has its own distinct legal personality and full capacity to act and manage itself autonomously. It is attached to the Regional Ministry of Housing, Territory and Mobility.

Governing bodies

In accordance with the entity's statutes, the following bodies govern and administer the entity:

• The Presidency, held by Mr. José Luis Mateo Hernández in his capacity as Regional Minister for Housing, Territory and Mobility.
• The Vice-Presidency, held by Ms. Maria Lorena del Valle Alonso, in her capacity as Director General of Mobility.
• The Board of Directors
• he Managing Director, held by Mr. José Ramón Orta Rotger, appointed by the Regional Ministry of Housing, Territory and Mobility.

SFM Team

The Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca team is made up of staff employed by the organisation, without prejudice to any civil servants who may be assigned to it or who may join it.

What do we do?

Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca's institutional purpose is to manage Mallorca's railway services and operate them within the scope of the Balearic Islands Government's powers.
