SFM promotes the comprehensive renewal of station signage and railway corporate identity

The initiative will modernise the image of the railway network, improve station accessibility and facilitate passenger orientation

Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) has launched the tender process for the contract to update and improve all signage and corporate identity elements across Mallorca’s railway network, with a budget of €803,395.51 (VAT included) and a maximum execution period of nine months.

This initiative forms part of the Government of the Balearic Islands’ strategy to modernise railway infrastructure and continue improving the quality of public transport, with the aim of providing a more accessible, efficient and user-oriented service adapted to current public needs.

The renewal project will improve the visibility and identification of stations, as well as facilitate passenger orientation both at station entrances and inside the facilities. An assessment of the current situation identified shortcomings in the existing signage system, including the absence of identifying elements at some access points, deterioration of structures caused by the passage of time or acts of vandalism, and the lack of a unified visual identity across the railway network.

The contract includes the design, supply and installation of new information elements, the removal of deteriorated structures and the adaptation of all signage to the current corporate identity standards. It also предусматриes the study of station access routes and the implementation of the new system, with the objective of guaranteeing clear, visible and coherent information throughout the entire network.

The project will allow visual criteria to be standardised across all stations and will improve the passenger experience by reinforcing the identity of the public railway network and facilitating its use for both regular passengers and new users.

The investment will be carried out during 2026 and will contribute to ensuring more modern and accessible facilities. Through this initiative, the Government continues advancing the improvement of railway public transport as a key element in promoting more sustainable mobility and providing efficient alternatives to private vehicle use.

The tender has been published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform through an open procedure, in accordance with the principles of transparency and competition, and companies have until 31 March to submit their proposals.
