Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will hold an initial working meeting this Wednesday, 28 January, with the Works Committee following yesterday’s assembly, during which employees agreed to call partial strike action. The meeting will take place at SFM’s institutional headquarters, located in the former Hostal Términus building, at 10:30 am.

Historian Miguel Deyá will analyse the economic, social and cultural impact of the arrival of the railway in Mallorca Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will continue its conference series at the Términus building next Wednesday with the lecture “Traditional Society and the Railway: the Mallorcan Case”, delivered by historian and researcher Miguel Deyá, who will analyse the economic, social and cultural impact that the arrival of the railway had on the island of Mallorca.

With the works now completed, the Government of the Balearic Islands has fully refurbished the station’s four historic buildings, improved access to train services and modernised the surrounding outdoor areas The station complex will host the new headquarters of the Railway Enthusiasts Association and promote new community-oriented uses The Regional Minister for Housing, Territory and Mobility, José Luis Mateo, visited Pont d’Inca railway station today following the completion of the refurbishment works carried out on the complex of historic station buildings, a project promoted by the Government of the Balearic Islands and Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM).

The railway operator will run special night trains and additional afternoon services from Friday 16 January until Tuesday 20 January Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will operate special train services during the Sant Antoni and Sant Sebastià festivities in order to provide a safe and convenient transport option for all those travelling to the celebrations of these popular traditional festivals.

The measure forms part of the special rail service reinforcement plan activated during the Christmas period Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will reinforce the Palma–Inca train service next Monday, 5 January, on the occasion of the Three Kings Parade in Palma. This additional service complements the special rail operations introduced since the end of November, before and throughout the Christmas period, as well as the overnight services provided on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM), the public rail operator under the Regional Ministry of Housing, Territory and Mobility of the Government of the Balearic Islands, is significantly strengthening its passenger assistance and information service through a new contract, already awarded, for the 2026–2030 period.
