Activities will take place throughout the day and will culminate with a concert by Nacha Pop next to Palma Intermodal Station Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will celebrate next Saturday, 21 February, the closing events marking the 150th anniversary of the launch of the first railway service in Mallorca, which began operating between Palma and Inca in 1875.

The railway operator will run 16 additional train services between Palma and Inca in both directions on Saturday and Sunday, from midday until night-time Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will operate special train services next weekend, 14 and 15 February, on the occasion of the traditional Carnival parades taking place in Palma, Lloseta and several other municipalities.

A new power substation has been built to reinforce the safety and reliability of the electrical supply, while parts of the station building and outdoor areas have also been refurbished The General Manager of Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM), José Ramón Orta, and the Mayor of Marratxí, Jaume Llompart, visited Marratxí railway station today following the completion of refurbishment works carried out at the facility.

The first meeting has brought positions closer together and postpones the possible partial strike action proposed by workers’ representatives The management of Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM), led by its General Manager, José Ramón Orta, and representatives of the Works Committee held an initial meeting today in which they agreed to launch a schedule of meetings aimed at implementing measures and continuing to improve railway safety.
